Shelby County Issues bids in a number of different formats, depending on the requirment. Use the links below to select the type Bid that interests you.
Request
for Bid - Regular Bid (RB) and Sealed Bid (SB)Regular Bids (RB) are purchases where the amount of expenditure or sale exceeds $15,000 but less than $25,000.
Sealed Bids (SB) are purchases where the amount of the expenditure or sale exceeds $25,000.
Informal Bid (IB)
and Price Quote (PQ)
Informal Bids/Price Quotes (IB/PQ) are for the purchase of any item(s) where the amount of the expenditure or sale does not exceed $15,000.
Request
for Proposal (RFP)
Request
for Proposal (RFP) purchases are for the purchase professional services
regardless of the dollar amount. Request for proposals may or may not
require a price quotation for the project. The award of the bid is based
upon recognized competence and integrity at customary rates of compensation
and not solely on price.
Request for Qualification (RFQ)
Request for Qualification (RFP) solicitations are for the qualification and statements of interest from professional services providers for specific disciplines who will agree to be available to provide the requested services in a timely manner. Responding to this type of solicitation does not represent or guarantee a contract award.
Request for Information (RFI) solicitations that request background information on any given project from qualified and professional services providers. Responding to this type of solicitation does not represent or guarantee a contract award.
